Project Overview

"HOME" is a 5+ minute narrative spec film for Ray-Ban Meta Glasses, written by Lester Platt, exploring grief, self-discovery, and family. The story follows Alice, a college student adrift in the aftermath of her father's passing, whose call with her mother becomes the turning point that pushes her from stagnation into motion, honoring her father's belief that memories are the only things we truly carry with us.

Creative Approach

Rather than treating the Meta Glasses as the hero of the story, the film frames them as a quiet companion to a deeply human moment, present in Alice's hands-free journey and in the gift her mother discovers from her late husband, but never overshadowing the emotional core. The approach leans into authentic, unscripted-feeling performances and sweeping natural landscapes to mirror Alice's internal shift from grief to forward motion, closing not on resolution, but on acceptance.

Production Process

Production was structured around a 5-day road trip capturing Alice's journey across mountains, desert, and lake landscapes, followed by 2 additional days in Austin for pickup shots to complete the dorm and interior/emotional beats of the story. This structure allowed the team to prioritize authentic, on-location environmental storytelling during the road trip while ensuring controlled, detail-oriented coverage back in Austin.
